What next?

If you’ve decided to book a portfolio session with me, the best thing you can do is to do some homework: have a look through fashion magazines and websites, and look at how models pose.

Modelling Myths

  1. You don’t need professional photos done. In theory, any photo of you could be enough to get your face in front of someone at an agency - BUT no one will deny that even a small set of professionally produced, striking images will (a) make you LOOK more experienced, and (b) actually GIVE you some vital experience in front of the camera

  2. Everyone’s out to scam you. Use your common sense, if a company on Facebook is promising you fame and fortune and sounds like it’s too good to be true, it probably is. But there are a lot of trustworthy and talented fashion photographers out there who can help you at the start of your career.

  3. Modelling looks like a laugh. Modelling ISN’T rock and roll. Yes, there are parties and clubs and perks but there’s an awful lot of hard work and often too, a lot of boredom and UNGLAMOROUS stuff you have to do too, and of course it’s a ‘career’ with a fairly short shelf life.... DO NOT fall in love with the idea of being a model because you like the idea of being some kind of superbitch who will go on to make records and end up on a celebrity TV show.

  4. I’ve got a portfolio, now I can make serious money. Doing a first portfolio shoot DOES NOT give you a full portfolio. That’s going to take time and LOTS of shoots. Add to your portfolio gradually and if you are lucky enough to get an agency to sign you, consider any project they offer you to get varied experience and images in your book.

When can I book?

I shoot model portfolio sessions each month, in between my other fashion shoots. I can normally arrange a shoot for you with between 7 and 10 days’ notice. Email me for further information.
