WHY YOU CAN’T KICK START A MODELLING CAREER
The internet’s full of companies and photographers trying to get you to pay them to ‘kick start’ your modelling career. Go ahead, Google ‘model portfolios’ and see what you get.
Guess what? THEY CAN’T “KICK START” YOUR CAREER. No one can.
Would you expect to walk straight into a job as a chef or school teacher after a crash course or just one training lesson? Of course not - and working as a model is no different.
A TINY percentage of new models are lucky enough to be signed up by large agencies on the strength of a couple of pictures taken by friends or students, and then of course there’s the fairy tale ‘getting scouted in the street / at a club / on the bus / Facebook etc.’ It happens - SOMETIMES - but mostly, it doesn’t.
For the majority of people starting in modelling, it’s a case of having to build up a portfolio bit by bit, getting experience AND CONFIDENCE, and putting a portfolio together that gets you remembered at agencies.

I shoot model portfolio sessions each month, in between my other fashion shoots. I can normally arrange a shoot for you with between 7 and 10 days’ notice. Email me for further information.
